First Aid Response (FAR) Instructor course is to equip the student with the relevant instructional methods – knowledge and skills to design, deliver and evaluate a PHECC FAR course and to assess course participants
In order to maintain your qualification, you will be required to deliver at least 4 courses within the two-year certification period.
Attendees must complete a CFR-C Instructors Course and certs must still be in Date, Also Train the trainer or QQI Level 6 in Manual handling Instructor, or some form of Teaching or Training Qualification.
A first aid responder may be a healthcare practitioner or a member of the public who has undertaken a First Aid Response course and wishes to become an instructor. The first aid responder Instructor will be taught how to deliver a 3 day & 2 day refresher First aid response course. Be able to teach students to assess and manage patients in accordance with the PHECC FAR standard.
- Have a valid FAR or EFR provider certificate or show evidence of PHECC practitioner registration.
- Valid CFR instructor certification which must be maintained for the duration of their FAR-I certificate.
- Complete a 2-day FAR instructor course, including tuition in instructional methods and a period of supervised teaching practice.
The course is delivered as a two-day face to face course by an instructor trainer who will use videos & sample presentations and role-play to guide you through the course. The course is delivered through English.
